Steve is also President and General Counsel of Biscuit Books, Inc., a publishing company related to New England Mobile Book Fair, Inc. Having formerly practiced law at Goulston & Storrs, P.C., Steve currently serves in an Of Counsel position with the Boston law firm of Broude & Hochberg, L.L.P.
Steve attended Cornell University and Brandeis University (B.A., 1982), as well as Harvard Law School and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1989). Steve has been involved with soccer in the United States at various levels for twenty-five years in playing, legal, management, journalism and consulting capacities. Steve worked on the successful Boston World Cup '94 bid effort as legal counsel to Foxboro Stadium and as a member of the Boston Venue Bid Committee. At the time Steve was retained for the Boston World Cup effort, Boston’s bid preparations were ranked 29th and last of 29 American cities competing to become a World Cup ’94 host city. Steve was instrumental in turning around the bid effort, and Boston ultimately was chosen as one of the 9 American host cities in which World Cup ’94 games were played. Steve has represented professional soccer players, advised a Major League Soccer team, and consulted for certain national soccer media properties. Steve has also acted as a television analyst for New England Cable News, a regional 24-hour news network, during both the 1998 and 2002 World Cups. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Steve served one of the most successful teams in the history of United States professional soccer, the Baltimore Blast (not to be confused with the team currently known as the Baltimore Blast), as a front office executive, and for a brief time as a player. The Baltimore Blast won the 1983-84 Major Indoor Soccer League Championship, and set United States pro soccer attendance records which stand to this day.
With respect to international soccer, through his company Professional Soccer Advisors, Inc., Steve has since 2006 provided advice to owners, directors, senior management and officials of English clubs and within the English Premier League regarding (as the case may be) their own operations and the American market. Steve has also represented American companies interested in conducting business within the English Premier League and otherwise within international soccer.
